I hope the new month has been treating us good so far? Can't believe the year is almost at its end! Anyways, I'm back with yet another review and this time it's on a couple of lippies that i own from Maybelline. I love lipsticks as it does have an effect on your entire makeup look. You can take your makeup a notch higher or lower depending on what lipstick is used. If you are getting into the lipstick game it can be a little bit overwhelming especially if you aren't sure what would suit you. So i thought to share a little from my collection.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipcolor

The lipsticks are from the Maybelline Colorsensational range and comes in various shades from nudes to pinks to reds. They are either of a creamy satin finish, creamy metallic finish or creamy matte finish.



The Maybelline Colorsensational Lipcolor comes in a chic translucent plastic cap and shiny silver twisty tube with the name of the shade at the bottom giving you some hint of the shade of lipcolor in the tube. I love that this is different from the boring black tubes most lipsticks come in.


On application, these lipsticks apply smoothly on the lips with no tugging whatsoever. They are quite pigmented but also can be applied sheer due to the creamy texture. As with most creamy lipsticks, they can last between 4-6 hours depending on what you do however you may need to re-apply after eating or drinking. I would say these lippies are quite long lasting and do stay put.

They have a mild fragrance nothing unpleasant or overpowering which is unnoticeable upon application.

Disclaimer: Normally i would pair these lipcolors with lipliners and not wear them alone as some of the shades definitely need a lipliner. For the sake of showing the true shades i decided not to pair them with any lipliners.

Crazy for Coffee

This a warm mauve brown my-lips-but-better shade, this is the perfect nude that is suitable for medium deep to very dark skin tones. This color is a hit and is almost always sold out. A must have for any mua, click here to see an ombred Crazy for Coffee.

Pink Quartz

This reminds me of MAC Viva glam 2 only this is less metallic. This pinky rose gold shade is such a stunner that every mua must have. It's a bit sheer on it's own but layer this baby on top of any colour for a dazzle of brightness.

Fuchsia Flash

This is a bright fuchsia pink which i love to use for ombre lips. Beautiful! Of course to wear this lippie i would pair with a dark plum lipliner.

Hot Plum

When i first started professional makeup artistry i always gravitated towards this shade as it compliments all skin tones. Hot plum is a darker fuchsia pink with blue undertones. I usually would layer this on top of MAC Flat Out Fabulous which is darker and the effect is just wow! This is a must have shade for all muas. Click here to see Hot Plum in action.

Neon Red

This is more on the sheer side and is perfect for those venturing into wearing red lipstick but not ready to go bold. Had to do a few swipes to get the lipcolor to look this opaque.

Mat 4

Although it says matte it's not a drying-out-your-lips kinda matte. It's more on the creamy side but less creamy in comparison to the other lipcolors. Like Neon Red it has an orange undertone but its more bold.

Are You Ready

Are You Ready is a true res and is the perfect tomato red shade. It's bold and goes on opaque. No gimmicks with this shade.

Red Revival

Here comes my favourite red lipcolor in the range. Bold, super pigmented, long-lasting and compliments all skin tones especially dark ebony! When i put this lipcolor on i feel like nobody can tell me nothing! See how gorgeous it looks on me here.
