Finally we have access to one of the best selling drugstore foundations in Ghana and this is none other than the Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation. Yayyyyy!!!!! I remember seeing this foundation on shelves in Superdrug in the UK but the shade range didnt include that for dark skin. Fast forward to today, there are several shades suitable for dark skin in Ghana. How exciting!

Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation

The Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation is a liquid foundation that dries to a matte finish. The micro-flex formular provides 24 hour wear and makes this foundation transfer resistant. It offers a flawless, fresh and breathable feel with an SPF of 19. This is the info gathered from the label on the bottle. Always read the labels ladies!

Maybelline Superstay Foundation

The 30ml foundation is packaged in a see through glass bottle and thankfully a pump to dispense the foundation as most drugstore foundations do not come with a pump. The foundation, upon opening, has a watery consistency. However, I'll advice that you shake the bottle a little while and this will make it more viscous.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation in Chestnut

It is a medium coverage foundation but can be built to full coverage. Upon application, it dries down to a matte finish and sets on its own. So giving it a good 3 to 5 minutes to set is what makes the foundation transfer resistant. Transfer resistant means it wont rub all over you upon the slightest touch and this contributes to its long wearing ability. Now i haven't worn this foundation for 24 hours before however i believe it can last for 12 hours. It feels very light on the skin and most often 2 pumps is enough to cover my entire face and i still set it slightly with the Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Powder.

From L to R: Caramel, Chestnut, Hazelnut, Cocoa

There are 4 shades available in Ghana currently: Caramel, Chestnut, Hazelnut and Cocoa. Even though the shades are quite universal we can definitely benefit from more in-between shades. I would say that the Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation is relatively affordable and on the average costs about 70.00 cedis.

Even though the foundation sets to a dry, matte finish it isn't overly drying. It can be worn on all skin types but is best suited for those with oily skin. I absolutely love this foundation and it's my go to foundation. I'll definitely recommend the Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation to everyone. You can go have your shade tested at any Maybelline stand. 1. I just bought this foundation over the weekend. I have very oily face. I still oil up and the make up feels like it's falling off after some hours. Am I doing something wrong?

    1. Hi Linda, are you using a mattifying primer underneath? Producing oil if you have oily skin is inevitable however proper makeup prep and setting will ensure that your makeup will last long even if you get oily so pls adjust your routine.

  2. Great post and amazing finished look. I was going to ask about oiling up too. Where can one get a primer to help stop the oil and sweat? I don't wear makeup much because of that. Pictures on point! Good job!

  4. I was going to say I used it too and my face wasn't close to matte, guess a primer is non negotiable. Also I was given a cinnamon Fit me pressed powder to use alongside. I think they are different shades. Will chestnut foundation blend with Fit me Cinnamon shade.
