The Africa Beauty & Makeup Fair is here!!!!!! Woop woop! I'm super excited about this fair for various reasons. The AMB Fair 2017 is the second of its kind but bigger and better than the first. It's going to be a gathering of many African beauty brands across makeup, hair care, skin care, nails, etc.

Hello everyone, long time no see! I can't believe i haven't posted this since i wrote it in october?! Oh well, better late than never right? Today i wanted to share with you some makeup items from a Ghanaian cosmetic brand we are all familiar with and that's Forever Clair aka FC. So award winners and nominees of the Ghana Makeup Awards were invited to a soiree at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel hosted by FC CEO Mrs. Gladys Amey-Obeng. It was such an honour to meet the lady behind this international Ghanaian brand and to gather some wisdom from her. We met her, her husband and daughters who basically run the company together. That is goals right there!!!!!!!!! There was so much chatter and food and we took it as a time of relaxation and networking. At the end we were all presented with a goody bag full of awesome FC products.

So lately there's been a lot of interesting beauty innovations to help makeup artists and makeup lovers alike thus providing easy ways to apply makeup. I'm all for innovation which makes life easier buuuuuuut some of these innovations tho!!!! From using chicken breasts filets to condoms to eggs..... all in the name of flawless makeup application????!!!!! I can't! So just few hours ago i was looking through snapchat and looked at Hudabeauty's snap. Huda Kattan is one of the biggest beauty bloggers and influencers turned beautyprenuer based in Dubai and founder of Hudabeauty. She announced that they had a new product launching on April 1st, 2017 and everyone should go to her instagram page to check it out. So out of curiosity i did and lo and behold....... Hi beauties, so the internet is currently buzzing with the just ended Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA 2017, which was held in lagos at the Eko Hotel. The amount of slayage on the red carpet was just sinful and disrespectful. I don't know about you but...... i'm still trying to recover! No one went to joke oh! From the clothes to shoes, hairstyles and makeup... they went in haaaaarrd!!!

I couldn't help but snap out of my blogging hiatus to share these with you. These are closeups of a few of my favourite makeup looks as well hairstyles and i hunted down the MUAs and hairstylists behind the looks as well. Few beauty trends worth mentioning are:

• dewy, glowing skin and body as opposed to matte achieved by using highlighters
• bronzed, warmed up face as opposed to sharp, harsh contours 
• nude looks as opposed to smokey looks
• glittery eyes
• glam, bold, wispy lashes 
• bold, dark, vampy, matte lips achieved with liquid lipsticks
• natural looking brows as opposed to dark, overly drawn on or overly highlighted brows
• natural hair styles

Finally we have access to one of the best selling drugstore foundations in Ghana and this is none other than the Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation. Yayyyyy!!!!! I remember seeing this foundation on shelves in Superdrug in the UK but the shade range didnt include that for dark skin. Fast forward to today, there are several shades suitable for dark skin in Ghana. How exciting!
