New Makeup Goodies
April 26, 2016
So I love makeup! If you have been following me for a while now then you know that's no secret! While my friends claim I'm a makeup junkie I refuse to accept that!!!! I get super excited when I receive new makeup products. They even have a special place on my bed. Nothing wrong with that right???? (Post is heavy laden with pics)
So these products I got right here in Ghana from Zuzu, awesome right?! The makeup scene has improved a ton in Ghana such that you are sure to find exclusively high end products or have the vendors order and deliver to your doorstep hassle free. How exciting!!!!! So in no particular order here are the products from my latest makeup haul: (retail prices are shown for reference but would vary locally)
1. Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover
I have been wanting a good makeup cleaner for a while and I was excited to try this. It's like a gel-like lotion which spreads easily. I just massage it unto my face and then use a wipe to wipe it off. Works more effectively than most wipes and leave the skin soft and moist. $22

2. Shadow Shields
These are the original shadow shields which is quite a handy tool to have especially for a makeup artist. I must say though that this isn't exclusive to only makeup artists, everyone can use it! It's great to catch fallout from powdery eyeshadow, assists to draw a super crisp eye line or outline the lips and so much more. $10

3. BLVD Brush Shampoo & Conditioner
This bar soap has got good reviews and it lives up to expectations. I use it for both brushes and my beauty blender sponges. It has anti-bacterial properties, mild lemongrass fragrance, washes out easily and leaves the brushes feeling soft. $18

4. Dose of Colors
I got the strip eyelashes in the style "Double Dose". The style very flirtatious and very flattering on the eyes. I'm actually saving these for a special occasion. Love them. $14
I also got 3 lipsticks from them. Dose of Colors has some of the best lipstick formulas so i'm not disappointed at all. "Truffle" matte lipstick is amazing, It's super comfortable to wear on the lips and it's not drying at all. Looking forward to adding more to my kit. "Love Potion" & "Angelic" have creamy satin finishes and are long lasting as well. $18 & $16 respectively.
5. DuWop Crush in "Lava"
Oh gosh! Super intense pigmentation, creamy feel, no fallout, colours work well on all skin shades especially dark skin and does not crease! Insane! I'm ordering the other shades because the quality of this is off the roof. $22
6. Melt Cosmetics Stacks in "Dark Matter"
Love, love, love! This interesting design of eyeshadows made huge waves some time back on YouTube. The stacks are single eyeshadows with matte finish that are magnetized and can be stacked together. There's a reason they are mostly out of stock on their website so grab one if you can. $48
7. Becca Afterglow
A palette full of gorgeous highlighters and blushers that compliment all skin tones. This palette comes in handy especially if you don't have the funds to purchase the full sized products. As an MUA this saves you a ton of space in your kit. $40
8. Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5
This palette has also been making huge waves on YouTube. Honestly i got this out of hype *bows face*. $48
9. Inglot Gel Eyeliner
This is also a #youtubemademebuy item. Well to be fair it does live up to the hype. It's creamy, very pigmented, dries matte and is long lasting. $14 (pictured above)
10. Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray - Bridal
As a bridal makeup artist finishing sprays are quite crucial to ensure makeup lasts all day. This one came with such positive reviews so i decided to get it. $29 (pictured above)
All these products i can say have made their way into my kit so it's definitely my money's worth and i consider them an investment. I always look for reviews and live swatches before purchasing any product to make sure it'll work especially on dark skin. Anyways i hope this served as inspiration to buy some new makeup. Want an in-depth review of any of the items? Which items are on your wishlist? Let me know below.

That inglot liner! You'll love it! Although i'll suggest you also buy the duraline which you can mix it when the gel goes a bit dry.
