Hello Lovelies,
I am so excited to be sharing with you my hair of the day! Yes! Its been three months since my big chop and i have acquired an amount of decent hair growth, lol! I previously tried finger coils but my hair has gotten way thicker and longer to do that. I was watching Jenell of KinkyCurlyCoilyMe, am so happy to have discovered her as our hair textures are quite similar! She is quite elaborate with her tutorials giving out important information. She has a tutorial on flat twisting and several on styling twa and this has inspired me to do something to my hair other than always wearing it in a fro.
The style is very simple: 4 flat twists on each side, 2 chunky 2 strand flat twists in front and the rest is regular 2 strand twists. I simply twisted with the clear ecostyler gel. It took me about 2 hours to do :-( but hopefully i can be a lot quicker next time.
Anyways, what do you naturalistas think? Pls comment or leave suggestions.
Love, Annette

I recently subscribed to the chic Nessakayy on blogger and did some digging through her blog. As amazing as she was, she had put up a post about finding dupes for the nyx lip liners. Being the bargain freak that i am i immediately went to check it out and lo and behold! i had to get my hands on it.
Okay so its a set of 12 pencil liners with varied colours which is definitely a dupe for most branded lip liners. I got it on ebay for 4.99 which in my opinion is a very good bargain as you would be paying 42p for one, even the cheapest brand, MUA, sells a lip pencil for 1.00 and has only 4 shades!
Whiles this isn't the creamiest of lip pencils it does glide on the lips and and is super pigmented! I find myself just filling in my lips with a lip pencil and wearing a lip gloss over it. So if you are a bargainista like me, i'd recommend you to grab this goody, i mean you definitely cannot go wrong can you?!
Lol!
Stay Fab, Beauties,
Love, Annette

UPDATE:
Seller has since increased the price to 5.59, lol!

I have been experimenting with tons and tons of makeup, and i finally recognise what it is i am looking out for in my makeup. I prefer a sheer to medium coverage with a flawless finish. Simply put, I want my makeup to look like skin. Lol! I am constantly on the lookout for anything that helps with that. So after hearing makeup guru on youtube, Gossmakeupartist, recommend using a makeup sponge, particularly the beauty blender, for a flawless application of foundation, i decided to try it out. He suggested a dupe for the beauty blender same as the one branded by Cosmopolitan which was the same product for less and it did the exact same job. It is also being sold on Ebay for cheaper. So i hopped into superdrug and got myself one.
The sponge is very easy to use, simply wet it with water and dab into your foundation. Then bounce it on and off your face to blend it. That's all! Very easy to do. This simple technique does require patience and the results are excellent, very well blended, flawless and looks like skin.

Hair Debate: Weaves and Relaxers

I have recently been feeling inspired to write but as busy or lazy (lol) as i get i haven't been able to. But just recently a male friend of mine on facebook, Foli, brought up a topic which caused me to respond by writing a whole thesis lol! He had watched Chris Rock's documentary on good hair and came up with some points and questions as to why women should spend unnecessarily on indian hair and the fact that blacks who are huge consumers of these products as well as relaxers do not even own a fraction of the market. Both male and female commentators came on board which was interesting indeed. Anyways i was pleased about the way in which i approached the issue because prior to embarking on this natural hair journey, i would have just gone ahead to bash Foli and ask him to leave women alone. It is important that we understand the history of black hair so that we can understand why there are relaxers and why we wear weaves. Anyways, i managed to copy the conversation below. Pls read it and let me know what you think.
