With the onset of the harmattan, aka dry season, i knew that i did not want to leave my hair out as the dryness will just drive me nuts. I made the decision to install a protective style and i happen to see a couple of marley twists on instagram which served as the inspiration i needed.
So whiles prepping my hair for the twists i decided to briefly document how i prep my natural hair before getting an installation. I realized most ladies do not do this and sometimes failing to do so causes more harm than good. This post also doubles as my wash day post.

Hello Beauties,
So from the title you can guess this is a haul post. I recently used up my trusty deep conditioner and needed to re-purchase and so off i went to Juben after close of work on a weekday. I love that i can get items there even after close of work as they close at 7pm and not at 5pm unlike most beauty supply stores. This beauty supply store is a beauty haven. I really love browsing through the aisles of this shop because they have a variety of items. *sighs* Okay back to the post!

So the main reason why i went there this time was to replenish my hair care stock and more especially try out some other products from the Creme of Nature (CON) Argan Oil range. I wanted to try out the CON Moisture and Shine Shampoo (sulphate free), CON Perfect 7 Leave-In Treatment and the CON Foaming Wrap Lotion. Unfortunately the shampoo had run out, meh! So here are the products i got instead among other beauty items.

So i have recently gotten the vibe of wearing my natural hair out into my system. I feel like its high time I fully embraced it esp the short length.

Ok confession time
For sometime now i haven't been taking very good care of my hair. Well......... I was taking care of it but not fully committed. What peeved me was the fact that is was shedding more than what i considered normal. This was the main reason why i switched from relaxed to natural but was still experiencing the same shedding wahala. So to prevent me from seeing coils of hair lying about my room i always opted for protective styling to prevent me from dealing with it. But after thinking thoroughly i realized that probably i was not detangling properly to remove all the shed hair esp after taking out the protective style. After taking the time to properly detangle my hair during the last wash, i can proudly say i saw little shedding during my wash session. Anyways to cut the long story short i have decided to go on a ban on long term protective styling esp on weaves and braids. I will wear wigs for days when i need my hair to set or i am having a bit of a challenge.
